Their caves on Atlas Peak Road are some of the oldest in Napa, built by the architect of Inglenook and Greystone. The Del Dotto team takes a very hands-on approach and tastings are normally done as part of a tour. They love to show how various barrels influence the flavors of the wine.
Both wineries, old and new, are remarkable in their own ways. The wines are very popular, the tour is a lot of fun and they draw plenty of repeat visitors. They are known to pour big tastings, so either hire a driver, or have a designated driver. The interior is elaborate.
