Lodgings in Southern Sonoma

Return to Hotel Directory

Bed & Breakfast Association of Sonoma Valley: 800-969-4667 www.sonomabb.com . This is a very active organization with the inside track to the most charming B&B's.

Best Western Sonoma Valley Inn
: 550 Second Street West Sonoma 707.938.9200 One block from the Plaza. Newly renovated with Spa and Event Center. This is possibly the nicest Best Western in the whole area, a couple of blocks from the plaza, walking distance to all the best restaurants, across the street from the WHole Foods Market and the Bookends Bookstore. It's a great deal and they offer specials. We often use it for our clients and they are always surprised by how nice the experience is. Location counts for a lot, and the staff is uber-nice.

Brick House Bungalows
: 313 First St E. Sonoma 707.996.8091 www.bungalows313.com
Cute bungalows just a short walk from the Sonoma Plaza. A charming courtyard and run by the owners. Considering its location this is a great value.

Cottage Inn & Spa
: 302 First St. E. Sonoma. 800.944.1490 - 707.996.0719

www.cottageinnandspa.com . Just a short walk to the plaza this is classy & comfy and offers a lovely sense of luxury and pampering. It is not large so you should book well in advance if you can.

El Dorado Hotel
: 405 First St. W. Sonoma 707.996.3220 www.eldoradosonoma.com . Facing the plaza with a trendy restaurant downstairs, it is a lot of fun and it appeals to a younger crowd.

El Pueblo Inn
: 896 W Napa St, Sonoma. 707.996.3651. www.elpuebloinn.com . A friendly and reasonably priced hotel/motel with a variety of comfortable rooms, pool. A nice stay!

Fairmont Sonoma Mission
Inn & Spa: 100 Boyes Blvd. Sonoma. 800.862.4945.
An older hotel with small rooms about 15 minutes north of the plaza.

Gaige House Inn
: 13540 Arnold Dr. Glen Ellen 800.935.0237 707.935.0237
www.gaigehouse.com . One of America's most romantic B&B's located in charming Glen Ellen. A small hotel with a famous brunch and a great staff.  Clients love it.

Glen Ellen Inn
: 13670 Arnold Dr. Glen Ellen 707.996.1174 www.glenelleninn.com Convenient to restaurants and the Valley of the Moon wineries. A little to close to the road for our tastes but not uncomfortably so. It makes up for it with good prices.

Glenelly Inn & Cottages
: 5131 Warm Springs Road, Glen Ellen 707-996-6720
www.glenelly.com . Charming, tucked away just minutes from downtown and run by lovely people. The breakfast rooms feel and smell the way a wonderful country inn should. The folks are wonderfully knowledgeable about what the area has to offer.

Inn at Sonoma
: 630 Broadway. Sonoma 888-568-9818 www.InnatSonoma.com One of the Four Sisters' small hotels with their personable charm, comfort and great location. This is one that we recommend often. The prices are reasonable. the location is great, walking distance to all of the best shopping and restaurantsa and the staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. *****

Jack London Lodge
: 13740 Arnold Dr. Glen Ellen 707.938.8510. A very convenient, and reasonably priced motel.

Kenwood Inn and Spa
: 10400 Sonoma Hwy Kenwood 800.353.6966 707.833.1293 Rated as one of America's most romantic Inns and Spas and well-deserved. It is probably the most expensive lodging in the Sonoma Valley.

MacArthur Place
: Broadway & MacArthur St. Sonoma 800.722.1866 707.938.2929.
www.macarthurplace.com . A gre at, medium-sized hotel half a mile to the Plaza with wonderful grounds, a great pool and the area's best steak restaurant (Saddles), which also serves a nice brunch. A beautiful property. *****

Sheraton Sonoma County - Petaluma: 745 Baywood Dr. Petaluma 707.283.2888 A large convention hotel by Highway 101, with a marina behind and wine country near by. This is actually a wonderfully convenient location for touring Sonoma without the Wine Country prices.

Sonoma Hotel
: 110 W. Spain St. Sonoma 800.468.6016 707.996.2996
www.sonomahotel.com . Old style, on the plaza, oozing with charm, upstairs from the restaurant the Girl and the Fig. Be prepared to smell the restaurant, could be good, could be bad. Reasonable prices and great location. Ask for a room as far away from the corner as possible to avoid the sound of traffic early in the morning and the noise from the restaurant at night.

The Lodge at Sonoma
Resort & Spa: 1325 Broadway, Sonoma. 707.935.6600
www.thelodgeatsonoma.com . A Marriott property that is relatively new and one of the few large hotels in downtown Sonoma. A little impersonal in comparison to great places like the MacArthur Place across the street. Nice pool, but they sometimes have challenges holding onto good staff. Includes a nice spa that is popular with the locals.

The Swiss Hotel: 18 W. Spain St. Sonoma.
707.938.2884. www.swisshotelsonoma.com Very small hotel facing the Plaza with a popular bar and restaurant downstairs.
