They do a sit down tasting outside on a remarkable patio. Inside is a most unique art collection. The pieces were created by a French artist who works with the foil capsules to make figures related to the wineries. They are very elegant and the Kelham's offer a number of them for sale. The tasting is almost always done by the family, including Ron and Hamilton, the two winemakers. They are by appointment, but if you appreciate great wines and want to visit the best of Napa, call them. By the way, they have the friendliest dogs in the valley. Beautiful architecture and gardens.

A big, comfortable tasting room and a nice introduction to Napa.

Notes: Korbel is one of California's oldest sparkling wine houses. They are on River Road on the way to the Pacific Ocean. The fogs and cool air that flow in from the sea create conditions that suit Chard and Pinot Noir perfectly. Architecture, gifts, great tours and a great staff. They have a wonderful deli restaurant with seating outdoors among the redwood trees. Refreshing!

Notes: Architecture, Gardens, Views. Guests receive a map and gate code upon confirmation. A long winding driveway with twelve convex mirrors at the hairpin turns. Worth it, because the site is great, the vineyards are perched on top of the mountains, the buildings and unique, with the a sense of muscularity and grace, they have some wonderful, working antique cars and trucks, and the folks who work there are as friendly as can be. A great experience.

Besides a very friendly tasting bar, they offer wonderful sit-down reserve tastings and guided tours of their barrel caves Fri, Sat, Sun throughout the day by appointment. The building is based on a barn that was on the site for many years. They have picnic tables outside by the fountain, nice gifts, and a wonderful feeling. For many years they only grew grapes for other wineries, a lot of grapes. In the 1990's they started selling their own wine, and every year their wines get better. They are a great value and the place is a lot of fun. Bring a picnic.
